So a certain day is almost here… some people dread it… some adore it… I am one of those who loves it- Valentines day!
Doing something on valentines day has always been on my checklist, I see it as an excuse to go for cocktails & Pink fizz with the girls! But It’s a day to embrace all relationships, so let’s celebrate them all- Whether that be GALentines, PALentines or actually valentines, I hope you enjoy your day!
When in London, where better to go for a GALentines day out than Peggy Porschen cakes? Its pretty pink&floral decor is perfect! So I dragged my friend Beki on the tube, with our heart balloons, and FORCED her to drink hot chocolate&cupcakes with me. It was very hard to persuade her, of course…
We had the classic hot chocolate with their ‘La vie en rose’ cupcakes, which were salted caramel! If you’re wanting somewhere extremely cute and girly for valentines- this is your pink heaven!
I hope you enjoyed this post and I wish you a happy valentines, however you spend it!
Love as always,
(The sweetened Strawberry Black Tea and Mango Black Tea were basically what I lived on over summer… )
Firstly, my apologies for being a little non-existent the last month, I’ve had a very busy few weeks but I hope you all enjoyed your summer! However I am back and just in time for PUMPKIN SPICED LATTE SEASON! Autumn&Winter are my favourite times of year and I am sooooo ready!!
Now for any of you that know me personally, you will know I’m your typical basic girl. Criteria? Owns a white fiat 500- Tick. Owns a Starbucks card- Tick. But before my basic girl instincts kick in, let me talk about something Starbucks have introduced recently.
Yay for saving the environment with Starbucks!
So Starbucks have been selling £1.00 reusable cups for a few years, which are great because you get 25p off your drink every-time you use one. But now, they’ve introduced a 5p charge… I know a lot of you are probably reading this thinking ‘Why are you happy there’s a charge?’ WELL. Because of the charge, so many people are buying and reusing their recycled and reusable cups AND saving money. Within 4 drinks, you’ve received the money back from buying the reusable cup in the first place! THERE IS NO DOWNSIDE. Save the environment AND save money? Just remember to pop your little Starbucks cup in your bag when you want to grab one!
Another thing, you don’t have to use the two £1.00 cups designed either. You can use any cup and you get 25p off… Although the newest design of £1.00 cups with the Starbucks with nature is ADORABLE! That’s all for this little post, but let me know which cups and flasks you have!
Today’s post is another addition to my London’s Sweet Street collection and I went to possibly the most instagramable cafe… ever? I thought Peggy Porschen was cute, but Elan Cafe is a floral heaven!
Each table has marbled tops and baby pink seats and it’s very fresh and floral. I decided, because it was super hot, to have a peach iced tea. It was lovely to cool down with on a hot summery day AND they use paper straws to be eco friendly! I then ‘accidently’ ordered a slice of cherry and chocolate cake too…
The actual cafe boasts pink, floral heaven and it’s menu compliments it. Elan cafe, if you’re obsessed with Instagram like me, is known for it’s floral wall of roses. Although I didn’t get to sit in-front of it this time, I shall definitely be returning in the future.
You can grab a take out latte&cake or sit in and each a whole salad. Their variety of food is huge and their variety of cakes is even more. Plus they all look adorable! Just don’t think about the calories!
I visited Elan Cafe on Brompton road, just down the road from Harrods, but there is another store on Park lane. AND there is a brand new one opening soon at Oxford Circus! I hope you enjoyed this little insight into an Instagram famous cafe, let me know if you visit and what you have!
Today’s post is about Sorbet- the best food ever during summer! For those of you that don’t live In the UK, England is currently SO hot, especially London, and sorbet is the perfect food to cool down with. Tasty, icy, fruity goodness. London is full of good gelato& sorbet shops but today’s post is about ‘Amorino.’
Amorino is a beautiful Italian gelato shop but it’s definitely one of the best sorbet shops in London. If you choose to have your gelato or sorbet In a cone, they shape it into a flower, AND you can add a macaron on the top! Prices are average for London and the variety of flavours will leave you pondering for hours.
My go to are raspberry, strawberry and mango sorbet BUT if they have the passionfruit or blackcurrant sorbet when you visit, you MUST try them! They are ridiculously fruity and make your mouth pop with flavour.. and because they’re so good, they often run out of them very quickly.
Amorino doesn’t just sell sorbet, they do gelato, crepes, waffles and smoothies galore! So if you’re wanting a quick take out snack&drink, containing high quality ingredients, Amorino’s your place! (They have vegan and organic products too for anyone needing a specific dietary requirement.)
Let me know if you lovelies take a trip to our Italian friends at Amorino! Do you have a favourite sorbet shop?
So today’s blog post is a foodie one. I finally visited a patisserie on my ‘sweet street’ list- Maitre Choux. If you’ve never seen it on instagram before, where have you been?!
This little cafe is located in the centre of South Kensington, not far from the tube station or the museums. Its store front presents a window where their world-famous choux buns sit, ready for the hundreds of tourists to feast their beady eyes on. This patisserie boasts a contemporary, clean-cut feel with its brilliant white counters featuring bright colourful patterns.
Whether you want to order take away or eat in, either is wonderful. If you order take away, which I did, they pack them in a little box. (I ordered 4 because it filled up the box.) But if you do decide to eat in, you can purchase hot drinks too and your desserts of choice are presented on a black slate, to match your ‘ever so sophisticated’ marble top table.
I decided to go for;
Caramel a la Bretonne | Citron Meringue & Bergamotte | Red Love Eclair | Delice rose a la Frambroise
The prices are reasonable considering this quaint little cafe is in South Kensington. The eclairs are around £5-£6 depending on which flavour you get. But the little choux buns are around £4. I only got the eclairs and not any of the choux buns, but there’s always next time!
I would definitely recommend this place if you want tasty, perfectly crafted mini desserts and as a bonus, they’re perfect with a cup of tea!
